The Goddard Chair is a unique endowed professorship at Penn State which emphasizes outreach and public service. 

 

The Goddard Professor seeks to improve natural resource management and policy by fostering dialogue on important issues among agencies, industries, and the general public.

The 6th Goddard Forum, The Opportunities and Challenges of the Pennsylvania Renewable Portfolio Standard: Emerging Technologies, Regulations, and Institutions, was held January 30-31, 2006 at The Nittany Lion Inn in State College, PA. 

The 7th Goddard Forum, Pennsylvania's Third Forest: Challenges and Opportunities for the Next Century, was held January 29-30, 2007 at The Penn Stater Conference Center Hotel in State College, PA.

The Goddard Chair position is a three-year appointment; the current Goddard Chair, Robert B. McKinstry, Jr., began July 1, 2001, and is in his second term, which runs through June 30, 2007.
